How to Mass Update Products via Excel

Section 1: Introduction

Mass updating products is a convenient function that allows you to efficiently manage your products in bulk. With this feature, you can select products by category, export them into an Excel format, make necessary edits, and then import the updated file back into your system. This streamlined process ensures that product information is updated quickly and efficiently. 

Section 2: How to Access to Mass Update Products

Here are the ways to access mass update products:

Method 1: Seach "Mass Update Products" in search menu bar at the top of NMS

Method 2: Go to NMS side menu > Manage > Products > Mass Update Products

Method 3: Go to NMS side menu > Manage > Products > All products > Click "Mass Update" button 

Section 3: How to Download a Template for Updating Product Information

Step 1: Choose the template

There are two types of templates available for downloading in order to update specific listing information:

a) Basic Info: This template allows you to edit product names (in three languages), SKUs, product weight (in grams), length (in cm), height (in cm), width (in cm), descriptions (in three languages) and visibility (show or hide the products) 

b) Sales Info: With this template, you can edit product names, variant names, SKUs, prices, and stock levels

Step 2: Select the category that you wish to edit 

Step 3: Filter the product status [All, Visible (public product), Hidden]

Step 4: Filter the stock (All, In Stock, Out of stock)

Step 5: Filter the price range, set the min and max price or just leave it blank 

Step 6: Click "Click for download"
Each merchant can only have one mass update at the same time and suggest no more than 1000 products.

You can check your downloaded templates in the Download History. Click "Download" to download the them if necessary. 
The latest 30 files (for upload + download) will be kept in our system, and you may download them if necessary.
Step 7: Once the template is downloaded, you can start editing your product information in the Excel file.

Once you are done editing, you may upload the template on the "Upload" page. Refer Section 4.

Section 4: How to Upload the Template

Step 1: Go to "Upload" page

Step 2: Click "Click here" or drop your excel files > Select the files > Click open 

Step 3: Click "Submit"
Maximum file size is 5MB and only in xlsx.
Please download or upload the latest template and avoid using old templates.
After submitting the file, the system will use the information from the Excel file to perform the update.

If the products are included in the mass update list and are queued for updating, they will display the note "Mass Update in Progress". Once the update is completed, the note will disappear.

When a mass update is in progress, clicking on a product will display the message "This product is queuing for mass product update, any changes made will remove this product from queuing."
Edit a product inside mass update list will remove the product from list
If you wish for the mass update to continue updating the product, you can click "cancel". Alternatively, you can continue editing the information on the product page, and the product will be removed from the queue for mass update.

You can check the status of your mass update in the Upload History. The latest 30 files (for upload + download) will be kept in our system, and you may download them if necessary.

If you face any product failures while conducting a mass update, you can download the file to see why the errors occurred.

In the Excel file, the last column will display errors and explain why the product failed to update. You can edit the error section and then re-upload the file.
